The question shouldn’t be how to grill bacon? The question is should you grill bacon? Can you? Yes, this is something every griller will try at least once. Should you? No, I do not recommend it without use of a pan or bacon grilling rack. Throwing uncooked bacon directly onto your grills grates will cause quite a mess inside your grill that you will be cleaning for hours.
The solution: Use pre-cooked bacon
Pre-cooked bacon is readily available. Even if you don’t want to pay the extra cost, you can cook regular bacon before tossing it onto the grill. For our video we used Hormel black label thick cut bacon.
Grilling pre-cooked bacon is simple and quick.
Pre-heat your grill to high heat, once your grill is good and hot place the strips of bacon directly over the heat. Wait about a minute until you see the fat bubbling out of the top, then flip. After another minute or so, the fat bubbles should be covering most of the bacon by now. Flip the bacon again.
In another minute remove it from your grill and place between two paper towels blot dry and eat.
Do not close the lid or leave the bacon unattended.
The result will be very crispy with additional grilled flavor. A perfect topping for a cheese burger. Quick and easy.

Bacon Grilling Rack with Review
The non-stick bacon grilling rack will hold up to 6 slices of bacon. Its angular design allows the bacon drippings to run into the drip trays on either side.
If you must try this with raw bacon it is best to set up a drip pan and grill over indirect heat. The bacon can be moved to direct heat once most of the fat has been rendered. This will save you the interior grill cleanup.
