Spit Rod Bushings for Rotisseries

A spit rod bushing will help your rotisserie run smother by providing a smooth surface to rotate, where your rod makes contact with your grill. Spit rod bushings will also work as a spit rod stopper, this is to say that it prevents the spit rod from pushing out of the rotisserie motor.

The placement of your spit rod bushing is critical for smooth operation of your grills rotisserie. To tight and the motor will work harder than it has to, to loose and it will pop out.

The bushing only needs to be properly placed once, after that there is no need to remove it from your spit rod.

Place your bushing onto your rod with the screw or flange towards the motor. Slide your spit rod into the motor as far as it will go and then back it off 1/4 of an inch. Place your spit rod bushing into the groove of the grill or your bushing bracket and tighten. Try to push the rod into the motor to be sure that the bushing can stay in place.

Before every use of you rotisserie you should clean out the groove where the bushing sits, with a paper towel or rag. Any grit left in it causes unneeded drag. We will also place a drop of cooking oil onto the smooth end of our spit rod bushing for lubrication before each use of our rotisserie.
