The large hole jalapeno stand or chicken leg grill rack is made from stainless steel with 24 large flared holes for holding either chicken legs or jalapeno up right while grilling. It has collapsible legs and is dishwasher safe. Larger holes at approximately 1.25 then a standard jalapeno rack typically 1 inch diameter will allow you to use larger peppers and wrap them in bacon!

Pictured below are the same 4 large jalapeno in a standard jalapeno stand and then the large hole jalapeno stand.

As you can clearly see the large hole jalapeno stand can easily accommodate that fat pepper and it stands perfectly. The thinner peppers are easily supported in the grill rack with the use of toothpicks. I would suggest wrapping them in bacon though.

Unlike your typical jalapeno rack the peppers sit low in the large hole jalapeno stand. This will keep them from getting top-heavy and falling over. Which we have had happen several times. It also gets the peppers closer to the heat, which is essential when trying to crisp up that bacon.

While grilling up jalapeno poppers is nice, everything is better with bacon.

There are a ton of great recipes for grilled jalapeno poppers out there. When we cook our poppers, we stuff them with a combination of Colby Jack, Cream cheese and add bacon bits. Wrap the pepper in bacon and hold it in place with a toothpick. Set them into the large hole jalapeno stand.  Using a smoker box and apple wood chips hit them with smoke over indirect heat for the first 20 to 30 minutes. Then we will move them over direct heat until the bacon is crispy. Watch for flare-ups on that last part.

Caution: The large hole jalapeno stand will get hot when in use on your grill. Always use some sort of hand protection when handling it. We suggest if not loading the rack completely, leave a row in the center empty so that you can pick it up with your tongs.
